Little kids have a way of moving quickly and sneakily, much to the horror of their parents. Usually, there's little to no harm done. But sometimes, children are able to get their hands on things that no one realizes are dangerous. One mother recently took to Facebook to share the story of how her son was accidentally poisoned with an item for children that's readily available in many households.
JennaJoy Ingraham lives in Washington with her husband, Casey, and their two young sons, Bryten and Graysen. It was an average day when Casey decided to go take a shower. He didn't realize that their youngest son, 18-month-old Graysen, had followed him into the bathroom, where there was a bottle of baby oil on the counter.

Casey was showering when he heard Graysen coughing. He peeked out to find his son holding the bottle of baby oil and making a face that indicated he'd tasted something unpleasant. Casey quickly got out of the shower and took the bottle away from the child, but the little boy's parents had no idea what would happen next.
JennaJoy and her husband, Casey, have two beautiful sons. Bryten is 3 years old, and Graysen is 18 months old.
The Ingrahams even recently announced they have another little one on the way!
Amidst all the joy and family time that happens during the holiday season, the couple had a scary experience they felt it was important to share.
Casey was in the shower one day when 18-month-old Graysen snuck into the bathroom behind him. Casey heard his son coughing and peeked out to see what was going on.
"That’s when he looked out and saw Graysen putting the baby oil bottle back on the counter and making a yucky face," JennaJoy explained to People.
They initially didn't think there was too much to be concerned about. It appeared Graysen had only tasted a little bit of baby oil. Since the product is made for use on children, they didn't think such a small amount would pose a huge risk.
But just a short while later, they realized that the usually active Graysen was quietly sitting on the couch. They'd given him an apple to eat, and he hadn't touched it at all.
JennaJoy told People: "I came out from the kitchen and he hadn’t moved, so I went to talk to him. But he wasn’t responding to us at all. He slid down the couch and curled up in a ball on the floor, that was really strange. He was lethargic. I picked him up and he was really dead weight and his eyes were closing in slow, awkward blinks."
JennaJoy consulted a nurse, who told her to call poison control. Staff there directed her to take Graysen to the ER immediately.
JennaJoy stayed back with her older son while Casey took Graysen to the hospital. They were shocked when doctors explained that inhaling the baby oil was more dangerous than ingesting it.
The National Capital Poison Center lists baby oil among dangerous household hydrocarbons. Like gasoline or mineral oil, aspiration could lead to deadly impacts on the lungs, especially in such little bodies.
JennaJoy shared the scary experience in a Facebook post to warn other parents about what could happen.
JennaJoy has since gotten rid of all the baby oil in her house and is dedicated to learning more about the risks such seemingly innocuous household items could pose.
Graysen was released after doctors cleared him and instructed Casey and JennaJoy to keep an eye on him. The scary incident turned into the ultimate learning experience for the Ingraham family.
"Today I feel crazy anxious but extremely lucky as I cuddle my tiny guy and obsessively listen for any changes in his breathing,” JennaJoy concluded her Facebook post. "I also really feel the need to spread the word of how dangerous that little bottle all new Mommies get at their baby shower or have next to the bath or changing table actually can be."
