There is no greater pain for a parent to bear than the death of a child.
It's an unthinkable tragedy that completely changes your life and, sometimes, the way you relate to the people around you.
It is also an extremely isolating experience. Yes, other people know what it feels like to lose a child, but no one else knows what it feels like to lose your child.
Lexi Behrndt lost her son Charlie to a congenital heart defect when he was just 6 months old.
She knows firsthand what it feels like to have to say goodbye to a child, and now she's reaching out to other people in similar situations to provide support and encouragement for bereaved parents.
Behrndt recently posted a video to her Facebook page addressing grieving parents everywhere and it's truly powerful.
She provides comfort, advice, and, most importantly, praise for the strong individuals who are working to keep the memories of their children alive even though they are no longer able to hold them.
The video features Behrndt's words in a voiceover with many beautiful family moments playing on the screen.
It's both heartbreaking and moving to watch, and provides a raw and honest look into the deep grief that parents feel as they try to make a life they never planned to live.
