Actress Rebel Wilson just shared a major life update! The actress announced, in a post that surprised her fans, that she's now a mom.
The 42-year-old star revealed in a post on Instagram on Monday that she just welcomed her first baby.
"Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate ," the Pitch Perfect star wrote.
Her emotional post continued, as she shared her joy. "I can't even describe the love I have for her, she's a beautiful miracle!" she wrote. "I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making…but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it's an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!"
She continued, "I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club. "
Rebel only recently shared that she was in a relationship with fashion and jewelry designer Ramona Agruma. "I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess #loveislove," she wrote on Instagram in June.
Now, the pair have become parents, and it seems they couldn't be happier.
Rebel has been incredibly open about her health. She told People that one big reason she decided to embark on a "year of health" in 2020, was due to fertility issues. She said that her doctor told her harvesting eggs would go a lot smoother if she lost weight. "He looked me up and down and said, 'You'd do much better if you were healthier,'" she recalled.
She shared that while at first, her instinct was to get angry, it inspired her to get more in tune with her body's needs. "I was taken aback. I thought, 'Oh God, this guy's so rude,'" she said.
"He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It's almost like I didn't think of my own needs. I thought of a future child's needs that really inspired me to get healthier."
Rebel also shared that having a family, however it may happen, was absolutely a priority. "I would love to have a family," she said. "I'm just going for it by myself at the moment because of the biological clock. If I meet the right person, great, and then they can fit in with whatever happens."
