After being seen out together recently, actors Robin Wright and Sean Penn have been the subject of much speculation. Now Robin is setting the record straight, clarifying the nature of their relationship after years of separation.
Last month, Robin and Sean, who were married from 1996 to 2010, were spotted for the first time since 2017 traveling together at LAX.
After they were spotted together, people started asking questions. Robin clarified that they are not back together, but they are friends and can talk to each other.
During an interview with E! News, Robin said it was a "gift" to be "friends with the father of your children" because being divorced while sharing kids is "one of the most difficult things in life."
Robin is currently pursuing a flourishing career in television and film. The actor has recently been featured in high-profile projects such as the Netflix hit series House of Cards and the movie Wonder Woman 1984. She has also produced, directed, and starred in multiple productions for streaming services.
Sean is currently enjoying a successful acting and directing career of his own. He was most recently seen in the Netflix drama The First and also starred in HBO's critically acclaimed limited series Escape at Dannemora.
On the directing side, Sean has helmed two feature films: Into the Wild and The Last Face.
In the interview with E! News, Robin also added, "When you become estranged and become friends again … we were going to an event for our children. We’re always gonna be a family, whether we’re together or apart, you know, and I think that’s beautiful and I wish that for everybody."
After years of separation, Robin and Sean appear to have formed a strong bond as friends and confidants. While they are not romantically back together, their relationship is built on mutual respect and understanding. This newfound friendship has allowed them to successfully co-parent their children while pursuing their successful careers.
