Shawn Johnson and her husband Andrew East are all about sun and fun on their babymoon! The former Olympic gymnast and her hubby traveled to Portugal for a babymoon coordinated by Noken, a service that helps you plan and curate vacations.
The couple look relaxed and elated in the many photos of their trip that they've shared. From Lagos to Lisbon, they're sightseeing and kicking back on beaches in what looks like a seriously good time.
Shawn and Andrew shared the news that they were expecting their first child in April. They announced that they were expecting on their joint YouTube channel, where they had previously revealed that Shawn suffered a miscarriage in October 2017. The tragic news came just two days after they found out she was expecting. It's wonderful to see the two making the most out of the special moments this pregnancy is offering them after what they've experienced.
Shawn Johnson is having fun in the sun with her best friend by her side! The former Olympic gymnast and her husband, Andrew East, are out and about in Portugal enjoying their babymoon. They'll welcome their first child later this year.
The couple wasted no time after getting off their flight, spending seven hours sightseeing. They planned the trip with the help of Noken, a travel planning and curating service. Shawn sang the praises of the service for making the weeklong trip a breeze.
They began their sightseeing in Porto before heading to Lisbon on day two. The happy couple took in everything the capital city had to offer, including some seriously awesome eats. It seemed like Shawn and Andrew were having a blast.
They took things a little easier the next day. Shawn posed for a bikini bump pic on a lounger and wrote, "Day filled with pools, beaches, massages, and food. Perfect day."
Another beach pic from Lagos shows Shawn giving her hubby a little help with a handstand. The former gymnast joked about the silly photo, writing, "He’s doing the handstands for me these days hahaha."
The couple did stay active throughout their trip. They took a double kayak out on the water and had a blast.
The last day of their weeklong getaway was spent taking it easy. "Last day of our #babymoon walked around gardens, turned ourselves into roasted marshmallows by the ocean, and indulged in amazing food," Shawn wrote.
It's beautiful to see the couple enjoying every moment of their pregnancy. The couple first shared the news that they were expecting in early April: "@theeastbaby … we cannot WAIT to welcome you to the world and shower you with love. @andrewdeast WE DID IT!"
The news came after the couple had experienced a loss about two years prior. In a video posted to their YouTube channel in October 2017, Shawn and Andrew revealed they learned she was pregnant. Sadly, she miscarried two days later.
In one of the first posts to their new baby's Instagram account, Shawn and Andrew shared a picture of a pair of baby shoes. Andrew had bought the shoes upon learning about their first pregnancy and brought them back out with news of the second.
The sweet gesture is a beautiful way of honoring the pregnancy they lost while still celebrating the impending arrival of their rainbow baby. The pain of the loss was tremendous for the couple. With this new baby comes a lot of joy and hope for the family they've dreamed of.
There's still a lot we don't know about Baby East. Shawn and Andrew recently posted a video about gender reveals. In the video, Andrew thinks they're having a girl, while Shawn thinks they're having a boy, so they decide to see what some old wives' tales predict.
Gender aside, we still don't know when to expect Baby East. The video revealing Shawn's pregnancy was filmed around mid-February, so many suspect Baby East will arrive around October or November.
Whenever Baby East shows up, it's clear that mom and dad are excited to meet him or her. And so are all of the baby's Instagram followers. To date, Baby East has over 160,000 followers! There's sure to be a lot of love in this little one's life.
