Meet Rhema Marvanne: She's an amazingly talented little 7-year-old girl who has more air in her lungs than just about anyone else out there. To celebrate our nation's Independence Day, she's decided to perform one of the hardest songs known to singers the world over.
The lyrics from this beautiful song were written by amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the British attack on Ft. McHenry during the War of 1812. Though the song was widely used by early Americans it wasn't until 1931 that President Hoover officially declared it our national anthem by a congressional resolution.
"The Star-Spangled Banner," while a great honor for any singer to belt out, is a bit of a nerve-wracking piece to attempt to tackle. With its soaring high notes and bottomed-out low notes, this song is a tough one for even the most professional of singers.
But it seems as if Marvanne never heard about how difficult this song is known to be, because when she walked up behind the mic the only thing she managed to do was blow a kiss off camera to her loved one. As the music began to play, she took a deep breath and blew us all away. Make sure to watch her amazing rendition of our nation's anthem!
Make sure to watch Marvanne honor and respect our great country!
And please SHARE this song if you love being an American!
