Tarek El Moussa is finally getting married! After proposing to Heather Rae Young in July, they're feeling safe enough to officially celebrate the news.
The Flip or Flop star had parts of his proposal televised for his HGTV series Flipping 101 With Tarek El Moussa. He had rented a private beach and even went to look for the perfect ring with his sister.
He also made sure to run it by his two kids, Taylor and Brayden El Moussa, whom he shares with ex-wife Christina Haack, formerly known as Christina Anstead. Both kids seemed overjoyed by the proposal.
But Tarek had a very special way to honor Taylor, who's 10.
Tarek put together a short video montage to celebrate his daughter and the relationship they have. The footage was taken from the party, but he made sure to edit it into a small clip for his fans. Even though he's marrying Heather, Taylor will always be the most important young lady in his life.
"Forever my baby," he wrote in the caption. "Feeling like the luckiest man alive. Blessed to have the most amazing children and I’m getting married to the love of my life who puts our family first…there's nothing better than this." The clips helped remind him as to how quickly Taylor is growing up.
"This weekend was amazing and we can’t wait for our wedding but for now, I’m just gonna watch this vid of Tay and I over and over again to cherish this moment because boy is she growing up fast," he added. The video is hard not to loop. The two of them both look happy and in their element.
It's not the only ode he's recently posted to help celebrate his daughter. A little over a month ago, he included a picture of the two of them with a long caption about how proud he is to be her dad. "I feel like every time I blink my little Tay grows but I'm so proud of the confident, strong, and kind woman she’s becoming," he said.
Proving he's a family man, Tarek made sure to share that his family always comes first. "My NUMBER ONE priority is to be there for my kids 100% of the time so if that means missing a meeting to make sure they get to after school practice on time or if that means moving things around in my schedule to make it work with their schedules," he said. "I do it, no questions asked."
"My family's actually my biggest motivator in life," he said on Instagram. "It's not about money and it's not about material things for me. It's spending quality time with my kids and Heather and I think that's a huge reason I continue to push myself to the next level."
While the two seem very content together — with Heather making a very loving and caring stepmom — the two have gone on record to say that they can't imagine having more kids. But, of course, things can change in the future. The two talked about it with Life & Style Magazine back in 2019, and back then, they were in no rush.
"You know, I'm at a different point in my life. So, I don't know, no, not really,” Tarek told them. "I have an amazing 4-year-old and an amazing 8-year-old … I’m trying to wrangle those two, right. It's good enough for me right now."
At the time, Heather also said that she wouldn't be interested. But she said she was loving the opportunity to bond more and spend time with Taylor and Brayden — especially Taylor. "It's very new and I love it," she said. "His daughter and me bonded very quickly."
And according to Tarek, Taylor is also quite smitten with Heather. That, alone, makes the arrangement so much easier. "Oh, yeah," he said. "My daughter adores her." But Heather wasn't necessarily done with her praise of Taylor.
"She was amazing," she continued. "I think she was really excited to meet me and she loves her dad so much." She also admitted back then that they've already spent a large chunk of time together. "Yeah we do girly things together," she said. "I really love it actually. It's been amazing."
As a dad, there's nothing more that Tarek could have asked for. But the big question is, does his ex-wife Christina approve? The fact that Christina and Heather look very similar seems to tell fans that Tarek definitely has a specific taste. But what's most important is the fact that Christina feels comfortable welcoming Heather to the family.
Heather told Life & Style Magazine that the two of them are co-parenting beautifully. "It's going great," she said. "Everything is going great. Everything is for the kids. We have really good communication. The kids are in school so it's just coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs so it’s been really good spending a lot more quality time with the kids."
It sounds like Tarek has never been happier, and it seems like Heather is an incredible fit in the family. Hopefully, these two continue to have nothing but love and respect for each other. The big question is, will Taylor be in the wedding party?
