Naomi Osaka is pregnant! The tennis queen just confirmed she's expecting her first baby on Twitter.
The 25-year-old shared a photo of an ultrasound shot.
"I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future," she wrote. "One thing I'm looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mom.'"
The athlete is clearly excited. "2023 will be a year that'll be full of lessons for me and I hope I'll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I'll be at Aus 2024," she continued.
The announcement also clears up some questions! This week, the Australian Open announced via Twitter that Naomi would not compete this year. "Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the Australian Open. We will miss her at #AO2023," the tweet read.
Naomi clearly had kids on her brain. After all, she released a children's book last month. She said on Good Morning America that she hopes she will be able to return to tennis in 2023 after dealing with abdominal and right ankle injuries last year.
"For me, I feel like I'm a very curious person, so I've really been grateful to be given all these avenues to explore, and I am definitely looking forward to doing a lot of stuff," she said. "But I am a tennis player, so if I don't play tennis for too long, I get an itch."
Naomi is clearly feeling motherly. She recently shared a cute video of her reading her book to her "firstborn."
