7 Patients Discover Fertility Doctor Used His Own Sperm To Inseminate And Impregnate Them

For individuals who were adopted at a young age or are unsure of where they come from, there can be a lingering sense of wonder when it comes to their familial lineage.

ABC News shares the story of Eve Wiley, a woman from Texas who went looking for the man she thought was her sperm-donor father. What she ended up discovering was something completely and utterly shocking.

Eve was a typical teenager who decided to be nosy and snoop through her mother’s emails, and she discovered that her mother had used a sperm bank donor in order to conceive her.

“I saw all of these emails about artificial insemination,” Eve explains. When she got to the bottom of the email correspondence chain, she saw how her mom wrote that she was gathering information for her daughter, with her exact birth date listed.

When she turned 18, Eve was able to reach out to Steve Scholl, who donated to a sperm bank back in the day to make a little extra cash. After she sent him a letter, the two met and immediately hit it off.

Eve was soon taken for another loop. When she decided that she wanted to dig deeper into even more of her family history, she submitted to an online DNA testing business. The matches she was given didn’t make sense, though, as they were from a completely different geographical area.

When she talked to a newfound relative on the phone, trying to piece together information, she made a shocking connection that would change everything. This person had an uncle named Dr. Kim McMorries who also happened to be her mother’s fertility doctor when she was trying to conceive Eve.
