What to Know
Amid heightened security concerns for the Trump family, President Donald Trump’s 19-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, has been granted a restraining order against a man who has allegedly been bothering her. The 19-year-old, who is Donald Trump Jr.’s eldest daughter, recently graduated from high school and is preparing to start college in the fall. According to a report from TMZ, she filed a petition against a 26-year-old man named Gabriel Garza Jr.
Her restraining order against him is now in effect until May 2027.
Before a judge granted this restraining order in May of this year, Kai was granted a temporary restraining order in April. It banned the man from “stalking, cyberstalking, or committing any criminal offense resulting in physical injury or death,” per TMZ.
Now, he can’t go within 500 feet of where Kai lives, works, or attends school. The recent high school graduate is planning on attending the University of Miami in the fall.
According to the outlet, the man is also banned from any events that Kai goes to, and he is not allowed to possess any firearms.
This is not the first time Kai has faced this kind of threat.
Another incident last year raised concerns about Kai’s safety. In June 2025, a 23-year-old man named Anthony Reyes reportedly climbed a wall surrounding Mar-a-Lago and told police that he wanted to “spread the gospel” to the president and also “marry Kai,” NBC reported. A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed that the man “scaled a perimeter fence and triggered alarms,” leading to his arrest.
Kai has also spoken up about some less threatening (but still upsetting) encounters with people who do not support her grandfather. During an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Kai explained that some people have confronted her in public to tell her that they don’t like her grandpa.
“One time I was out in public and someone literally walked up to me to tell me that my grandpa sucks,” she recalled.
It sounds like Kai feels judged by people who dislike other members of her family but don’t actually know her as an individual. “Some people don’t like me — I mean 50% of the world doesn’t like me — because of my last name,” she said on the podcast. “But like, they don’t actually know me. I’m hoping that if people actually give me a shot and not look at the last name, I won’t have any opps, but we’ll see.”
The president’s youngest son, Barron Trump, has also faced some horrifying threats recently.

Barron is 20 years old and currently attending college. In March of this year, a 29-year-old man allegedly threatened that he would find Barron and decapitate him. In one message published by RadarOnline, the man reportedly wrote, “I’m literally gonna find out how Barron Trump walks around in NYC or DC or wherever the f— he is and run at him with a serrated bread knife and saw that motherf—— head off.”
Secret Service agents tracked the man down and he was arrested on April 3.
