When the world was introduced to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back in 1996, they probably never imagined he'd become one of Hollywood's most sought-after talents. The former WWE wrestler had his last match in 2016, but that doesn't mean his family won't continue on with the sport. One of his daughters, Simone Johnson, has already reportedly been working in the ring.
Simone is working her way toward becoming a fourth-generation wrestling superstar, and her dad couldn't be more proud. In fact, Dwayne is proud of all of his daughters. If you haven't been following his "career" as a father, you may be surprised. Turns out, he's actually somewhat of a softie.
The Rock's daughters — Simone, Jasmine, and Tiana — each got a special tribute for International Women's Day. The March 8 holiday is meant to celebrate women's rights and the inspirational female leaders that surround us every day. For Dwayne, it's obvious how much he's inspired by his daughters. You can tell he put a lot of time and thought into each post.
First up was a tribute to Simone. The picture he chose represents her decision to continue forward with wrestling. In the image, he has his arm around her as they look at the Wrestlemania stage. It's a touching photo that proves that women can take over any sport, even if it's typically dominated by men.
"Respect the ground you walk, protect the name you carry and blaze your own @wwenxt @wwe path," Dwayne wrote. "Proud of you and as you go down the road, I’ll always have your back." Simone's currently 18 years old, which means she has her whole future ahead of her.
Dwayne's next ode was to his daughter Jasmine. Dwayne's middle daughter is currently 4, which means she's at a wonderful age of discovery, independence, and growth. Alongside a beautiful photo of the two of them together, he wrote:
“Pōmaikaʻi
Blessed, strong and the world will hear from you one day,”
Also known as Jazzy, Jasmine is featured quite often on Dwayne's account. The two of them always seem to have a lot of fun together, and since there's a pretty big age gap between her and Simone, it makes sense that she's got a great relationship with her dad. For a long time, she was the baby. But Tiana arrived a couple years later to dethrone Jazzy of that title.
Tiana's tribute was also very special. "The world will one day hear from you too, my strong little love," Dwayne wrote. "And I can’t promise you I’ll love you for the rest of your life, but you have my word I’ll love and protect you for the rest of mine." He accompanied it with a very sweet video of Tiana saying she's capable of anything.
“Can you say, ‘I’m a pretty girl?’ Dwayne asked Tiana. She said it, before Dwayne got into the more powerful adjectives, following with, "More importantly than that, can you say, ‘I’m an awesome girl?'" She also acknowledged that she's smart — which she truly is.
Dwayne had Jazzy and Tiana with wife Lauren Hashian, whom he officially married in 2019. Lauren is a singer and songwriter who started dating the actor back in 2006. They initially met when Dwayne was married to Dany Garcia, the mother of Simone.
But Dwayne and Dany's split was reportedly amicable. Dwayne and Lauren moved in together soon after they started dating, and they officially tied the knot in 2019, after years of waiting. They reportedly were going to get hitched in the spring of 2018, but she turned out to be pregnant with Tiana around that time. "Mama don’t wanna take wedding pictures with a big [pregnancy] belly," Dwayne told Rolling Stone. "Mama wanna look good."
In that same interview, Dwayne let it slip that the two of them weren't necessarily trying for another child. The actor joked that Lauren got pregnant with Tiana merely after he looked at her. "All of a sudden I get a text from her with a [picture of a] pregnancy test," he said.
Dwayne didn't just pay tribute to his three beautiful daughters for International Women's Day. He also wrote a post for his Aunt Dorothy. "Sugar time! " he wrote. "Lovely Sunday visit this afternoon, when one of my favorites, Aunt Dorothy (the pride of Macon, GA) drove up with the family to spend a little time with us. 89 years young and still handling business like a boss. What a life. She blessed us today with her presence."
That said, Dwayne didn't just use the holiday to share moments when he's proud of the women in his life. His ode to his daughter Simone after her high school graduation was especially sweet. In the photos he shared, you can tell the two of them have a lot of laughs together.
"And then your babies graduate," he penned. "Very proud of my first daughter graduating high school, kickin’ [redacted] and is now NYU bound. [Love] you and one day you’ll stop pulling away from my beastly arms & kisses." In the second photo, you can see what he's referring to.
And, surprise surprise, those kind words also extend to Aunt Dorothy, who helped remind Dwayne a while back that the best way to feel grounded is with family by your side. "Funny cause it hit me yesterday as I was driving back to Atlanta, that my life is the craziest it’s ever been and I didn’t know much I TRULY NEEDED to go to a place where things can really slow down for me and I can just breathe and enjoy some good quality family," he wrote. "Hard to explain, but this was good for the soul. Aunt Dorothy said next time we come thru, give her 2 weeks and she’d cook for me."
No matter what, Dwayne has a lot of special women in his life. It's incredible that he honors them every day and reminds them how strong and smart they are. His three daughters seem so lucky to have such a kindhearted father who believes in them every step of the way.
