Tiffani Thiessen Had A Surprise At-Home Vow Renewal Last Week To Celebrate 15 Years Of Marriage

Based on the state of this year, many planned weddings have been postponed. But for some, the show must go on. Zoom weddings and elopements are still happening. And virtual vow renewals are also pretty big. Just ask Tiffani Thiessen, who celebrated 15 years with her husband while safely at home.

Tiffani Thiessen has built a career for herself outside of Saved by the Bell, but many fans likely still know her best as "Tiffani Amber Thiessen," her credited name used while filming the '90s series. In the show, she ended up marrying Zack Morris. In real life, the lucky groom was Brady Smith. Brady had the pleasure of marrying Tiffani the first time back in 2005.

Brady is also an actor, and he's currently on the show Alexa & Katie. Previously, he played the bit part of Grant Larson on Parks and Recreation. As expected, the two met on set. While Brady made the first move by asking her out, it was Tiffani who escalated the relationship to a romantic one.

"Obviously I wanted to kiss her but I wasn't gonna be that dude that tries to kiss on the first date," Brady said to Yahoo Lifestyle, per Fox News. "But then she leaned in and laid one on me. And I don't even remember the drive home."

Tiffani made sure to make the vow renewal as special as possible. She reportedly tried to re-create the scene of their 2005 wedding. They even used Tiffani's friend, chef Maili Halme, to re-create the wedding menu. Even the flowers were the same as the ones that bloomed 15 years back.

Even cooler, Tiffani noted on her Instagram caption that it was a total surprise. "Last night I surprised my husband with a special 15 year anniversary gift," she wrote. "I recreated an 'at home' version of our wedding. From the table to the flowers, to the decor and even the menu beautifully re-created by my dear friend @maili_halme who did our wedding."

"It was a memorable night to say the least…and I think I blew my husband's socks off." she said. It's just a reminder that even with 15 years of marriage, it's still very possible to surprise your husband. In the photo, Tiffani is wearing a beautiful lace dress designed by Vera Wang.

Tiffani and Brady have two children together — Harper Renn Smith, who was born in 2010, and Holt Fisher Smith, who was born in 2015. Tiffani, who's now 46, became a first-time mom at 36 and immediately fell in love with the job. She even changed up her diet to better accommodate her pregnancies.

For one, the former vegetarian began to eat red meat again, just for the iron. "PETA was really upset with me because I was a vegetarian for so many years," she told WebMD. But she still kept her mission toward helping animals by teaming up with the World Society for the Protection of Animals (now World Animal Protection).

More recently, Tiffani is keeping her relationship with daughter Harper strong with other activities — like runway shows. This February, the two of them rocked the runway for the Rookie USA Fashion Show that was held in Chicago. The two made it memorable by wearing matching Converse sneakers.

So how is Tiffani keeping her marriage strong? In 2012, she admitted that communication was one of the most important aspects to focus on. "You have to be patient," she told Glamour. "Relationships take a lot of work, whether it's a marriage, or a mother/daughter relationship, a friendship. They're not easy. I think we're all so wired differently, and our energies are different."

"Another thing is, you have to make time for your husband," she added. "Last night we went to see a movie which we haven't done in forever because it's really super hard to do sometimes, but we did, and we let my Mom put my daughter to bed and gave her a bath, and then we went to see a movie! So it's important to do those things for the two of you."

Even though her career has blossomed since, Tiffani isn't afraid to talk about her Saved by the Bell days. And it's been rumored that she might make an appearance on the Peacock reboot, which will star some of the past cast members. As she openly dated costar Mario Lopez at one time, that might be interesting to revisit.

Mario talked about the relationship briefly on The Kelly Clarkson Show. An audience member asked him whether or not any romances happened behind the scenes. "Just as a gentleman, I'm not one to kiss and tell ever," he said. "However, it wasn't a hookup, but, you know, I've talked about this before, she was my girlfriend for a while, Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kelly."

But they still stay in touch — and things aren't awkward. "It's funny, 'cause I went to regular high school and she used to wear my letterman's jacket from my real high school and stuff," he said. "But now, she's my dear friend and it's funny 'cause our kids actually play together. So, we'll get together, our kids play together and stuff."

But the actress really met her match with Brady. On their 10-year anniversary, she created a beautiful Instagram tribute to him. "I could not have picked a better partner to go thru this journey we call life," she admitted.

Based on the way these two talk about each other, they'll likely have many more happy anniversaries to come. While Brady may not be Zack Morris (or A.C. Slater), he still seems like a loving husband who's absolutely smitten with his wife. As far as vow renewals go? This one really hit the mark.
