Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are the power couple of country music.
They're also a beautiful example of long-lasting love. Like a country music fairy tale, the two fell in love on tour. The two stars have been married for nearly 24 years. They have three daughters: 23-year-old Gracie, 22-year-old Maggie, and 18-year-old Audrey.
What's beautiful about Tim and Faith is that they're just as crazy about each other now as they were at the very beginning. Tim is never shy when it comes to gushing over his wife. He even wrote her a special poem for her birthday. He shared it on Instagram on Monday, as Faith celebrated her 53rd birthday.
Faith's been showing her love for Tim, too. She recently threw a party celebrating her man's new album, Here on Earth. It couldn't be the usual big deal because of the health crisis, but the nice night at home with family was great nonetheless. In many ways, it's reflective of the things at the center of their relationship: love, family, and music.
The love between Tim McGraw and Faith Hill is the real deal. The country superstars have been married since 1996. They met two years prior, and their love story almost never happened.
Tim was fresh out of his previous relationship. He and Kristine Donahue had been engaged before breaking up shortly before he and Faith began the Spontaneous Combustion tour. Faith was engaged to record producer Scott Hicks at the time.
She knew that what she felt with Tim was not the kind of thing you pass on, and so she didn't. She broke it off with Scott.
By June 1996, Tim knew it was the real deal, too, and he asked Faith to be his wife. They tied the knot in a surprise wedding that October. Later, they'd share that they were expecting their first child together.
Fast-forward 20-plus years and three kids, and Tim and Faith are as happy as ever. Tim recently released a new album, Here on Earth, which is reflective of his long-lasting love, his life as the father of adult children, and the moment our world is in. Faith and the girls surprised him with an at-home album release party.
It was special for the family, too. It was the first time either artist had listened to their new music with their children.
"The girls and I surprised Tim with our first ever family album release party. Yeah, I know…..Honestly, it is the truth. We have never listened to one of our new albums with just the girls. Ever," Faith shared on Instagram.
"An unforgettable evening for what in my humble opinion is one of the greatest albums Tim has ever recorded. We listened to the double vinyl records blaring from the speakers!!!!!! A night we will never forget."
"Here is a small clip of our special evening celebrating the man we all adore in the Mcgraw house of women. We are so proud of this man!!!!!! He has created a masterpiece."
Tim returned all that love for another special occasion. On September 21, Faith celebrated her 53rd birthday. Tim celebrated Faith's special day with a poem he wrote just for her:
“Happy birthday!
The best person I’ve ever known
She lights up every room she walks in…..
She’s every rose I see…..
The sun as it breaks the morning…
And will be my sun as I break into the night…..
I love her
I love her
I love her
I love you baby“
Later on, he gave fans a little peek into their low-key birthday celebrations. Tim shared a picture of the two of them kissing.
He captioned the sweet photo, "my birthday girl."
Next month, Tim and Faith will celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary. During a virtual interview with E! News, Tim joked about the milestone.
"Which we figure in our industry, it's like 82 years," he said of their time together.
"It's kind of like dog years, you have to count each year as seven," he joked.
Tim didn't spill the beans on anniversary plans just yet. He did note that "date nights have been really cool for the last four weeks."
"We've had my three daughters in," he explained.
"Everyone was tested and cleared and we came up on the hill here at the house and we never left."
"We sat outside, we set up tables outside, we played games, we watched movies. And we had a great time just hanging out," he continued.
"I mean, it was probably one of the most special times we've had as a family in a long, long time. And despite all the craziness going on in the world, we had a great four weeks together."
Tim and Faith are truly enjoying some of the best days of their lives. They're also so proud of their girls, who are all grown up.
"They're very outspoken in their beliefs and what they believe in," Tim told People magazine.
"They don't tolerate injustice for anybody, expected for themselves or for anybody else. And they speak up about it. And I'm really proud of that."
