After DNA Test, Adopted Woman Finds Out She Grew Up Watching Her Birth Mother On TV

Have you ever watched someone on television over the years and had them become almost like part of your family?

This segment posted on YouTube from the Tamron Hall show tells the story of Lisa Wright, who was adopted as a baby and had no clue who her birth mother was. It wasn’t until she turned 54 that she decided to take a DNA test. She discovered that her mother was actually an actress named Lynne Moody, whom she had grown up watching on some of her favorite TV shows.

One of the first things Lisa notes is that she grew up in a very loving home with her adopted family, so as a child and young adult, she didn’t really feel the need to seek out her birth mother.

“My mom made sure that I felt good about being adopted. She told me that my biological mom loved me so much, but she knew she couldn’t take care of me,” Lisa explains.

When she lost her parents within a few years of each other, she suddenly felt like an orphan who was a bit “lost.” Her grown son actually urged Lisa to take a DNA test to help them learn about their heritage and where their biological family came from.

The DNA test results led Lisa to an uncle who gave her the name of her birth mother, and when Lisa did a quick internet search, she immediately recognized the woman’s photos.

It was none other than Lynne Moody, who was a television star who had acted on some of Lisa’s favorite shows, such as That’s My Mama and Knots Landing.
