While these days we’re less likely to rely on our neighbors and community members to help make our lives easier, we do tend to lean on complete strangers to get by. Need a ride to or from the airport? Calling a relative may be out of the question. But there’s always Uber. You might not be able to ask your friend to pick up something for you at the grocery store, but you can pay a man (or hopefully, a woman) to shop for you through Instacart. And nothing beats ordering something one day and having it delivered to your door the next. Thanks, Amazon.
Most of the time, these services make our lives easier. But occasionally, they expose us to bad behavior.
Recently, a Ring camera captured an Amazon delivery driver delivering more than just a package.
According to the New York Post, a female Amazon driver who has not been identified, pulled her pants down and defecated on the front porch of the Los Angeles home where she had been tasked with making deliveries.
She reportedly performed the bizarre act not once but twice, seemingly aware of the cameras documenting her actions.
Her misdeeds were captured by two different home security cameras.
The homeowners, both in Woodland Hills, submitted the footage to KTLA. In the first video, the woman delivers the package in an unremarkable fashion. Then we see her pulling her pants up and zipping them. On the side of the porch, there’s a mound of human feces, covered by some indistinguishable liquid. In the second video, a dirty paper towel was discarded near a planter in the yard.
She urinated in front of another home.
Another family submitted a video, recorded at 6 a.m. on a Sunday, of the same delivery person climbing a private fence before pulling her pants down and urinating on a brick walkway. In this video, she appears to make eye contact with the camera, seemingly aware she was being recorded. KTLA contacted Amazon for its thoughts on the incident.
Amazon is deeply disturbed.
In a statement, Amazon confirmed the woman was an independent contractor and is no longer delivering its packages. “We’re deeply disturbed by the unacceptable behavior of this delivery driver and apologize to the customers involved. We immediately identified the driver and they are no longer delivering on behalf of Amazon,” the company shared.
