Audrey Hepburn Sings ‘Moon River’ In The Iconic ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’

There are some faces that we won't soon forget, and Audrey Hepburn's is one of them. She had this enchanting, irresistible glow to her, yet her bold, dark features gave her a twinge of mystery. She wasn't just one of the biggest movie stars of the Golden Age of film… she was also a huge style icon, as well as an active humanitarian.

The film she's arguably most well-known for is Breakfast At Tiffany's. This role wasn't her first, but it was certainly one of the films that hit her audience the hardest. Playing an outgoing New York socialite named Holly Golightly, Hepburn said that this was one of the most difficult roles for her to pull off. An introvert herself, she had to learn to come across as incredibly outgoing and confident. Needless to say, she pulled it off immaculately, which is just another reason to love Audrey.

In this scene, Holly Golightly sits outside her window playing a sleepy song on her little guitar. Her new upstairs neighbor, Paul Varjak, played by the late, but also great George Peppard, hears her beautiful voice. He steps away from his typewriter to get a better listen. When he looks down at this slightly mysterious beauty below him? The rest is magic

This song, "Moon River," won an Academy Award for best original song in 1961, and the movie took home the prize for best original score. While the song and score are both wonderful, we can all agree that it's Hepburn's performance that won us all over!
