Humans aren't the only ones obsessed with taking selfies on their cameras. Sloths are joining the craze now, too!
In the video below, an adorable baby sloth at the Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica wakes up from a nap and notices there's a camera near his bed. After investigating this new toy, the sloth starts to take a bunch of selfies of himself. Well, he actually is just very interested in the lens, but the way he reaches for it makes it look like he's trying to take a photo using the human-mounted camera.
This sloth is so ready for his close up. Move over, Kim Kardashian!
Not only is this sloth adorable, it's great to see that he's on the mend after being rescued from terrible conditions. The sanctuary is a wonderful facility that advocates the protection and rehabilitation of sloths in recovery.
The Sloth Sanctuary provides rehabilitation and veterinary care to injured, orphaned, and abandoned Costa Rican sloths. The goal is to release them back to their natural habitat.
According to their website, "Those that cannot be released ([due to] disability or lack of essential survival skills) are provided with balanced nutrition, veterinary care, exercise, socialization with other sloths."
