Dead Woman’s Husband Cast Ballot For Trump In Her Name After Allegedly Killing Her

Two weeks after being charged with the first-degree murder of his wife, Barry Morphew finds more charges headed his way.

Barry's wife, Suzanne Morphew, went missing on Mother's Day 2020. She went for a walk and never returned. Friends of Suzanne told the media that she had recently gone into remission from cancer and was ready to take on life again, confirming what many suspected — that Suzanne had no reason to harm herself.

Suzanne was determined to be dead throughout the course of the investigation, though her body has yet to be recovered. Barry was arrested on May 5, 2021, and charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, tampering with physical evidence, and an attempt to influence a public servant. Now new charges have been added to the case against him.

Barry Morphew finds himself in more legal trouble as police dig deeper into his activities since the disappearance of his wife, Suzanne Morphew. Suzanne went missing on Mother's Day 2020 and is believed to be dead. Barry was charged just two weeks ago with first-degree murder after deliberation, tampering with physical evidence, and an attempt to influence a public servant.

As police continue to investigate just what happened between Suzanne and Barry, they realized that five months after Suzanne's disappearance, she voted in the 2020 presidential election. It appears Barry cast a vote for Donald Trump on her behalf.

Morphew admitted to voter fraud when speaking to FBI agents. He cast the ballot because, he said, "I just wanted Trump to win."

"I figured all those other guys are cheating," investigators quoted him saying, per CBS 4 Denver.

"I know she was going to vote for Trump anyway."

Morphew also claimed he didn't know that casting a ballot on his spouse's behalf was illegal. "I didn't know you couldn't do that for your spouse," he said.

Suzanne's ballot envelope didn't include the required signature but had a handwritten date of 10/15/2020. Her husband's name was printed next to the signature line for "Witness's Legal Name."

Morphew's family and friends are still in disbelief that he could have killed his wife, though they're slowly accepting that the investigation has pointed to him thus far.

"Nothing out of the ordinary, ya know he hunted, he had his trucks, and he did a lot of landscaping work. That was his profession, that he told me, and so he did work around the neighborhood," neighbor Chad Heeter told reporters.

"Nothing that would throw me off."

Morphew is currently being held without bail in the Chaffee County detention facility. His next scheduled court date is May 27.
