During a Fort Wayne TinCaps baseball game a family was asked to come onto the field for a quick segment about our brave soldiers who are all fighting abroad. The family was related to Army Sergeant Nick Conrad, who, even though he was over 6,000 miles away from home, still missed his family, and still loved and rooted for his favorite baseball team!
The family stood in front of the thousands of baseball fans until they were asked a few questions about their son stationed so far away. Though they hadn't seen him in months and months, the whole family was looking forward to welcoming their son home for his birthday next month.
However, it seems like it's dear old Mom who was the one getting the surprise! With the whole family looking one direction, they didn't see the "baseball player" who was sneaking up behind them all. And when Mom turns around at the 1:30 mark, the whole crowd goes absolutely wild!
Though you can't see it in the video, the whole crowd was giving them a standing ovation. The baseball players in the dugout came out to applaud this reunited family, and even the players on the field stopped moving to clap for this brave soldier.
We just love watching videos of soldiers being welcomed home, but it's even funnier when it's the family who gets the surprise!
