Adorable Baby Ocelot Finds Out The Hard Way That Crabs Fight Back

I would never encourage anyone to walk up to a wild animal they're unfamiliar with, no matter how cute they might be. Trust me, I know there are some critters out there that seem so darn precious on the outside that we want to believe we're the Crocodile Hunter himself and give them a cuddle. However, unlike Steve Irwin, most of us haven't spent our lives studying the proper way to approach and protect ourselves from any dangers hidden under their adorable exterior.

The man in the clip below, however, has definitely done his homework. His name is Coyote Peterson and as the host of Brave Wilderness's Breaking Trail, he's no stranger to all the slithery, creepy crawly, and, in the case below, fuzzy creatures that roam around in the wild. Even so, he was pretty taken aback when he came across this adorable ocelot in the Costa Rican Rainforest. The playful cutie took a few swipes and nips at him, but in this outtake below, she's the one who discovers how painful it can be to cross paths with a new animal.

Peterson spots the land crab crawling around on the ground and points the crustacean out as a tasty snack for little big cat. She is definitely tempted by the prospect of a yummy meal, but learns quickly that this cuisine won't go down without a fight. Peterson encourages her to go after her prey, knowing it's an essential part of her survival process, but she doesn't seem to be hungry anymore after the crab gets its claws out.
