On March 16, 1975, the Jackson 5 were guests on Cher's iconic variety show. The audience was delighted when the Goddess of Pop herself joined the Jacksons as they sang and danced their way through a medley of boys' biggest hits, including "I Want You Back," "I'll Be There," "Dancing Machine," and more. This was back when Cher reigned as one of music's greatest divas, and before MJ had even started to moonwalk.
Not only is this an incredible performance, but it also reminds me of how amazing these two artists were. Michael looked so handsome in his black suit, and Cher was gorgeous in her gold, sequined one-piece. Together, they were pop music royalty! One YouTube commenter couldn't help but notice the interesting dynamic between them: "It was funny they had to modify some moves for Cher but kudos to her not looking completely lost. I did notice the competitive spirit in MJ. Anytime Cher would have a spotlight, MJ would dance faster and better. It was friendly but he definitely wasn't going to let anyone upstage him."
My favorite moment comes during "The Love You Save" when Cher takes her place in the Jackson's famous on-stage lineup, snapping her fingers and step-touching with the best of 'em. What an awesome moment in music history. If you agree, please SHARE this video with your friends on Facebook!
