Officer Spots Elderly Woman On Highway With Walker & Knew He Had To Step In And Help

When you’re a police officer out on patrol, you can never predict what you’re going to come across while on the clock and who is going to need your assistance on any given shift.

Lance was a kind and conscientious police officer who worked for Murfreesboro Police Department in Tennessee. As a boy, he always had dreams of becoming a police officer and with a supportive family behind him, he was able to make that ambition a reality.

He had grown up in Murfreesboro as his parents owned an artisanal bakery in town and Lance eventually met his wife and settled down with two kids of their own in the place he had known since he was a young boy.

Every day while on the job, Lance would make his rounds on the outskirts of Murfreesboro. Things were usually pretty quiet with not much to see, but one day he came across something that was completely unexpected.

According to WSMV 4, Lance was driving down Old Fort Parkway while on patrol when he saw what appeared to be a senior citizen with a walker trying to make her way down the highway. When he pulled over to check on the individual, he discovered that it was 84-year-old Elizabeth Goode.

The news outlet reports that Mrs. Goode told the officer that she had taken the bus from Nashville and was trying to make it to her hair appointment which was about a mile up the road. At that point, the officer offered her a ride to the salon and the pair had a chance to chat along the way.
