Kids Bring Police Officers Adorable ‘Survival Kits’

When little Jackson Bisazza showed up to the Holliston Police Department, the officers were stunned. The little guy and his parents brought 30 brown paper bags they called police "survival kids," to show their appreciation for their community's police.

The small packages were filled with candies like Starbursts, Paydays, Hershey's Kisses, and Peppermint Patties. With the candies came a poem that explained what each candy symbolized.

"Lifesaver — to remind you of the many times you have been one," the poem reads. "Payday — since you're not doing it for the money."

But Jackson isn't the only kid dropping off survival kits. Children are doing it all across the nation, and the officers are really feeling the love.

"Jackson, in a world that is fast-paced and often chaotic, we thank you for bringing a slice of generosity, innocence, and happiness to our Officers," the Holliston Police Department wrote on Facebook.

Other families gave officers the survival kits, but also threw them a big potluck lunch. It goes without saying that no matter who you are or where you are, when someone takes the time to consider you and your experiences, it feels really, really good.

"Just to think that people actually took time out of their day to do this for us means a lot," said Officer Kelly McKethan.
