One dad's encouraging text messages to his daughter after witnessing her breakup shows how much supportive parents matter. Grab some tissues, because these words will have you in tears .
Fallon Thompson of Texas shared her father Scott Thompson's text messages in a TikTok post that has since gone viral, garnering over 18 million views and over 36,000 comments. "POV: You just got dumped in your driveway and your dad saw the the whole thing," Fallon wrote in a slideshow post, then adding three screenshots of the messages from her dad.
In his response, he stated: "Hey baby girl….here is some perspective from your old man….I have had lots of relationships…from one-night stands, to flings, to friends w/ benefits, to girlfriends, to live-in girlfriends, and then I met your Mom. I can say with certainty that when I met her, it was instantly different. I can also say that I knew it was different because I went through those other experiences."
He continued, "So what you are dealing with today is necessary in order for you to one day be able to discern when a person is really right for you. I can also say that even though I was broken up with, and in one instance I was cheated on, it was worth it, to get to where I am now."

In the message, he noted that he wouldn't change anything that happened, and he wouldn't choose to be with any of the women he previously was with. "Even though at the time I was heartbroken, and it felt like I would never recover, and I was destined to be alone. I promise you, that is not your future."
"When someone [lets] you know that you are not for them, deal with the pain and hurt with the knowledge that this person just gave you back the most valuable thing in the world — your time," he said, adding for her to be "grateful for the experience she had with the person."
To finish off his message, he shared a sweet anecdote about cows and bulls. "When a cow sees a storm, they run away from it. What ends up happening is they end up being tormented by the storm longer as they are actually keeping themselves in the storm longer," he explained. "However, when a bull sees a storm, they run towards it, facing the onslaught head on. Initially, it's terrible but they are strong, and they can weather the storm, and because they ran towards it and they were able to endure it, the storm passes them quickly, and they are soon in a peaceful place."
"So be the bull, and lean into your storm, embrace the suck, and let it fill you up," he concluded. "After I read the first sentence, I was like, 'Oh, this is something that my heart needed,'" the 20-year-old told Good Morning America. "I think in that moment, he knew that I just needed some uplifting words."
His words not only comforted his daughter, but many across social media as well.
"Your dad just fixed a little part of me; thanks for sharing and I’m so sorry queen❤️ ," one person commented.
"Crying for the little girl who never received these messages from her father," another person commented.
"It was just one of those texts that's so sweet you just sort of want to cry," Fallon added of her dad's messages. "So I sort of teared up a little bit and I was like, 'Wow, like, regardless of where my relationships may lead me in life, I know I'm always gonna have my dad and my family. That's the most important thing to me."
