Elders remind us that life can be rich and fulfilling without all the fancy electronic toys. Sometimes wise grandparents can even teach us a thing or two, if we just take the time to listen. That's the important lesson the man in the following video learns as he cares for an elderly woman at a retirement home.
In the Singaporean short film Destined, a shy high-school senior dedicates time after school to help one elderly woman clean and take care of herself. One afternoon, he confides in her that he is nervous about asking a pretty girl to the school dance.
The old woman reveals that she has some dance moves and wants to help him. He is hesitant at first but is surprised to find that, despite her age, this granny has some beautiful dance moves. It's so wonderful to see seniors prove that you're never too old to have fun.
He quickly learns that everything is beautifully destined, and the people whom he helped, in turn help him. But will he get to ask out the girl of his dreams? We won't spoil it, but you'll want to see how this plays out.
It’s an emotional reminder about the importance of sharing love and life with the ones that mean the most to us. This short film is so moving, in fact, that it will probably bring you to tears.
