Man Recognizes Woman’s Shirt During Chance Encounter, Says He Has Her Late Brother’s Heart

In 2016, 21-year-old Donovan Bulger died following a tragic accident. Because he was an organ donor, his organs helped save the lives of several people across the country.

"A year ago we received a letter from the recipient of his heart," Donovan's sister, Savannah, wrote on Facebook. "I wrote back and put some pictures of Donovan along with it so they could put a face to his new heart. I told him he has a heart of pure gold."

According to OrganDonor.gov, 113,000 are on the national transplant waiting list as of January 2019, and 20 people die each day waiting for a transplant.

In April 2019, Savannah and her family attended a St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium on Transplant Awareness Day. They were all wearing bright green T-shirts with a photo of Donovan printed on the front, along with the words "brother, organ donor and hero."

While Donovan's loved ones gathered to pose for a group photo at the stadium, a woman suddenly approached them. "Are you Donovan's family?" she asked.

She recognized the picture of Donovan on their T-shirts. Savannah didn't think much of it at first. She assumed this woman must've either worked with her brother or knew him from school.

But as you'll see in the videos, this woman had an incredible connection to Donovan — and he was standing right beside her.
