Mom Always Felt ‘Ugly,’ So She Convinces Husband She Needs Plastic Surgery To Transform

Cynthia Stanley always felt "ugly." She hated her nose and spent her entire life being ridiculed for it. Bullies would call her "Pinocchio" and "Ski Slope."

She always joked that if she won the lottery, she would be getting a nose job. Little did her husband, John, and three children know she was serious.

"I don't care what we do, but Mama's going to get a new nose," Cynthia told Houma Today in 2009.

When Cynthia heard about The Doctors in 2008, she wrote to the show detailing why she felt so lonely and isolated because of her appearance. When the panel on The Doctors agreed to have her on, her family had mixed feelings. Of course, they felt the family matriarch was beautiful as she was.

"First, I was a little bit perplexed," John said. "I said, 'Why do you want all this?' Her nose didn't bother me, but it bothered her. She's been fighting that nose for 48 years."

But when John saw how excited Cynthia was, he couldn't help but be excited for her. The family decided to rally around Cynthia on her journey.

On the show, Cynthia received a full body makeover that included a nose job, dental surgery, a face lift, breast augmentation, Botox, and hair extensions.

Once the transformation was complete, Cynthia got to see herself for the first time, and she was brought to tears.

"I thank God and them every day for it because I would have never had this done on my own," she said.

John notices that Cynthia is more confident and secure in her appearance. Although he loves Cynthia before and after, he has always loved her exactly the same: unconditionally.

"To me, she's always going to be the little girl I married," John said. "She didn't change in my eyes. She's the same."
