Tracy and Timothy Ferriter are a couple from Jupiter, Florida, who stand accused of heinous acts. The two are adoptive parents to a 14-year-old boy who authorities now believe had been forced to live in a cage, among other forms of abuse at the hands of his parents.
The pair was been charged with aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment and are in the Palm Beach County Jail with bail set at $50,000 each.
The two are also parents to three other children, who have all been removed by child protective services. The police department revealed the details of the teen boy's imprisonment, explaining, "The juvenile was able to attend school; however, was confined to the structure during the remainder of the day. Meals were brought to the child and the bucket was provided for bathroom use."
An attorney for the parents argues that the child in question suffers from reactive attachment disorder. The parents were reportedly under investigation for close to a year.
