Ghislaine Maxwell is reportedly "making the best of a horrible situation," according to her attorney, Arthur Aidala. The former British socialite and convicted sex offender spends time running, doing "yoga and Pilates,” and helping with translation at Federal Correctional Institution of Tallahassee, reports Page Six.
Though Maxwell "has adapted," according to her attorney, "prison is terrifying." Maxwell, 62, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for helping convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse girls. Epstein died in prison in 2019.
She was also at the center of the release of what was sometimes referred to as the "Epstein list" at the beginning of 2024. In January 2024, previously sealed court documents that were said to contain names of more than a hundred Epstein associates were made public. The documents were from a defamation lawsuit brought against Maxwell by Virginia Giuffre.
In January 2024, Aidala revealed that Maxwell was maybe not so happy that she — a woman — was the only Epstein associate who had truly been held accountable.

“I don’t think she has anything to talk about except maybe that if you look at this crime, this overall crime, it’s all about men abusing women for a long period of time… and it’s only one person in jail — a woman,” Aidala told NewsNation.
More recently, Maxwell has been photographed running while in prison. According to Page Six, she was participating in the prison's half-marathon.
The Federal Correctional Institution of Tallahassee organized the marathon to "make it livable," Aidala told Page Six.
Maxwell's attorney described the prison as "isolated" and "quiet" and added that "there’s barbed wire everywhere you can see."
In spite of this, a skill that she possesses has reportedly helped her make friends while in prison.
“She speaks four or five languages,” Aidala told Page Six. Because of this, she's able to help other women who don't speak English as their native language.
Maxwell's attorney described her as "very popular" and "very helpful" in prison because she functions as “an interpreter, in terms of helping (other women at the facility) read their court documents.”
In pictures from the half-marathon, Maxwell can be seen doing laps in gray sweats with her hands balled up inside her sleeves. Her attorney told Page Six that she "looked great."
