It's pretty rare that I come across a cover of song I love that I think is better than the original, but this next performance is so unique and amazing, I think everyone will appreciate it.
Unlike other artists trying to push the envelope to create a new sound, the band PostModern Jukebox takes us back in time, covering newer songs in a vintage, jazz-inspired way reminiscent of decades past. We've seen them completely reinvent pop songs from today, like their cover of Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" — and now they're back with a cover that '90s alternative fans like myself are going crazy for.
In the following video, the band teamed up with American Idol alum Haley Reinhart to do a completely new spin on Radiohead's classic anthem "Creep." The 24-year-old pop star was just a baby when the English rock band released this song as their first single back in 1992, but as you can see her raspy, vintage-sounding voice is absolutely perfect when they recreate "Creep" as a jazz classic.
Although I'll always love the original, I have to admit that this is the best cover I've ever heard. I must have an old soul, because I'm obsessed with performances like this one. If you are, too, make sure to check out this little girl who sounds like the ghost of Billie Holiday.
