Frankfort, Indiana, Police Save Newborn And 5 Family Members From Massive House Fire

An Indiana family of six has survived a house fire, and they have a team of brave police officers to thank.

The fire broke out around 2 in the morning on Monday, April 3, 2023. Authorities reported that when the family called 911, they said that a baby was in the home and having a difficult time breathing.

Authorities noted that when police officers arrived, they realized that "flames were shooting out the front of the house with heavy smoke preventing an exit from the second floor."

Sergeant Andrew Snyder is credited with grabbing a ladder and climbing up to a window where residents were trapped. Bodycam footage shows the officer reaching the window and asking the people inside, "Can I have your kid? Can I have your baby?" before assuring them that he won't drop her.
