The Indiana Jones movies are timeless films that put actor Harrison Ford in some of the most action-packed adventures ever seen on the silver screen. But what would happen if there was a female protagonist avoiding dangerous booby traps and beating up bad guys?
The one and only Anna Kendrick stars in the hilarious short film Indianna Jones and the Last Crusade as part of NBC's Red Nose Day: a campaign to help children living in poverty both in the U.S. and abroad. It's a great way to raise both money and awareness for disadvantaged young people while also making people laugh!
This wouldn't be the first time we've seen an iconic action movie be remade in a hilarious way. Ellen DeGeneres created a super funny Jurassic World parody that features singing Barney dinosaurs instead of terrifying T-Rexes! But Anna Kendrick does such a perfect job of playing the gender-swapped "Indianna" that this is sure to be a parody that will go down in history as one of the best.
I don't know about you, but I'd love to see this short film into a feature-length movie! It's about time we get more women for lead roles in action movies, and a female version of Indiana Jones would send me running to the theater. And if Kendrick actually ends up starring in it, that would be even better!
