Injured Baby Elephant Is Happily Reunited With His Family

It is always heartbreaking to see an injured animal. There is something so helpless about seeing an animal that you cannot help. Some animals are very resourceful when they're injured, like this little elephant who sought out humans to help him after getting hurt.

Rangers in the Sera Community Conservatory in northern Kenya were patrolling back in January when they noticed something odd in a well. A baby bull elephant had fallen in and gotten stuck! They searched the area and found that his family was nowhere near. After pulling the elephant out and seeing that his injuries weren't severe, they decided to wait.

They kept the little guy company all day, waiting for hours in hopes that his family would return. Just when they were ready to call it a day, they heard grunts and stomping in the distance. They let the baby off the tether that they'd attached him to and ran around with him a bit.

Sure enough, the baby's family had returned! Watch the video below to see him as he charges toward his mother. It's the cutest thing ever!

I'm so happy nothing bad happened to this little one after falling into the well.
