The day after Josh Duggar was found guilty in his child pornography trial, another Duggar was in court. Jana Duggar has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, though People reports that no additional information about the case has been provided at this time.
Jana is expected to appear in court in January 2022.
While there isn't a lot of information about what led to the charge, Jana's cousin Amy King posted an Instagram story offering support to Jana. Amy wrote, "I will call out what is right and I will call out what is wrong. This couldn’t have been intentional. Thank God the child was OK and found!"
Amy then added a note to Jana in the Instagram story, indicating that Jana was in a situation where she was responsible for several children at once. Amy said, "I bet you were exhausted, stressed and just emotionally worn out. Watching multiple kids is hard! Bc there’s so many of them and you only have two eyes!! It’s a very sad situation going on and my heart goes out to @janamduggar love you."
Jana could face anything from probation to spending up to 90 days in jail. So far, the attorney that Jana has reportedly hired has not issued any statements to any publications about the case.
Whatever did or didn't happen, the news was likely not welcomed by the Duggar family, who are grappling with the implications of Josh Duggar's conviction. Amy King was an outspoken critic of her cousin Josh throughout his trial, often taking to Instagram and Twitter to share her opinions.
After his conviction, she tweeted, "May the juror’s and Judge Brooks seek healing / counseling from all that was exposed to them. May the children grow up with real Godly men as father figures who will guide and protect them. May the people who were once in disbelief have their eyes opened for the first time."
She continued, "May the daughters who were abused feel validated. You are truly beautiful and worthy of love. May there be intense counseling / healing. May there be wisdom for all those involved on how to move forward. Thank you Jesus. Justice has been served."
