Kate Middleton Shares That She Has Been Diagnosed With Cancer: ‘Huge Shock’

Kate Middleton has opened up about her health. In a video, the Princess of Wales revealed that she's been diagnosed with cancer. In January, Kensington Palace shared that Kate had abdominal surgery and probably would not return to public duties until after Easter.

Kensington Palace did not share details about the surgery, but Bazaar.com reported at the time that the condition was not cancerous. However, on March 22, Kate shared that while it was believed that her condition was not cancerous at the time of her surgery, cancer was found during tests after her surgery.

"In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous," she shared in a video. "However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present."

The news comes after a lot of speculation about Kate. Since she hasn't appeared in public since December, many began to wonder about her condition. A photo shared on UK Mother's Day that was later revealed to be edited only made people even more concerned.

Kate admitted that the cancer diagnosis has been a "huge shock" to her and has asked for privacy while being treated.

"This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," Kate, 42, said.

She has not shared what type of cancer she's been diagnosed with.
