Sticking Your Hand In Mayonnaise Is Beneficial To Your Skincare And Beauty Routine

I think it's safe to say that almost everyone has a jar of mayonnaise in their refrigerator or pantry at home.

But if you don't, you can always make homemade mayonnaise with this simple five-minute recipe.

It's great for any sandwich you're dying to make, and even good for some tasty dipping recipes too!

My uncle always says that mayonnaise gives a sandwich a little bit of life, but it turns out I'll have to tell him that it has many other uses in store!

From beauty needs, to around-the-house fixes, I never knew that mayonnaise could be such a useful product.

So, if you're just not in the sandwich mood and your mayonnaise is just sitting there lonely on the shelf, take it out and try some of these unique tricks below!

Remember, don't knock it til you try it! These unusual uses might end up being the fix you've been looking for…

#1: Remove Paint Splatters And Crayon Marks

If you're a mom or a grandma, you know that drawing marks on the walls are a nightmare.

But now, you barely have to stress it when your kiddies get a little out of hand.

Take a damp cloth and a bit of mayonnaise to the wall. Rub it on, let it sit for five to 10 minutes, and then wipe the colors away!

#2: Condition Your Hair

Throwing some condiments in your hair isn't always thought to be a good thing. But with mayonnaise it actually is!

If you start from the scalp and comb the product into your hair, let it sit for about an hour and then continue with your usual hair-washing routine.

You'll have a revamped feel and look!

#3: Clean Sticky Residue

Windex can step aside now! All you need is a cloth with mayo to get rid of the worst sticky stains on your countertops.

If you need a fix for wood with water rings or stains, mayo might be the perfect product to fix it! Simply rub it on the wood to buff out any unwanted spots.

#4: Remove Smudges And Fingerprints On Stainless Steel Appliances

This one is my personal favorite. Stainless steel appliances seem impossible to get fingerprint and streak free!

But if you apply a thin coat of mayonnaise, and then wipe it off with a clean cloth, you won't believe your eyes!

#5: Fix Squeaky Hinges

Squeaky hinges are another simple fix for a cloth full of mayonnaise.

Rub it on and then open and close the door a few times. Make sure that the mayo works its way into the hinges and prevents that horrible squeak everytime someone walks in!

#6: Use As A Baking Substitute

This I never would have thought of, replacing butter with mayonnaise. Or simply adding it to make a cake even more moist.

Whether you want to completely use it as a replacement or not, is up to your taste.

But if you ever run out of some kitchen needs, mayo might be your perfect fix!

#7: Polish Plant Leaves

Mayonnaise can buff the dust right off of any houseplants.

It's quick and easy, but leaves your home decor looking fresh and spotless!

#8: Give Yourself A Manicure

Dipping your hand in mayonnaise, applying it to your cuticles, or even soaking your feet all have a moisturizing effect that will leave you feeling like you just left a spa!

Soak for five to 10 minutes then rinse off, or apply with a Q-tip to your cuticles to get a perfectly smooth look after you paint them.

#9: Give Yourself A Facial

The moisturizing effect works on your face too!

Applying a thin layer to your face will give you a white mayo-mask!

Let this sit for 10 minutes, relax, and then rinse. Your face will feel as soft as a baby's bottom.

#10: Why Mayo?

Mayonnaise contains canola oil, water, liquid whole egg, vinegar, salt, liquid yolk, sugar, spices, concentrated lemon juice, and calcium disodium EDTA.

Most of those things are not seemingly healthy things to consume, but it turns out that those in combination are great for applying to your outer body. And even contribute to some non-body fixes.

If you ever feel guilty for eating mayo because it's unhealthy, you can always just soak in it!
