Rumer Willis Embraces International Women’s Day With Topless Nursing Snapshot

March 8, 2024, was International Women’s Day. This global annual holiday celebrates the many achievements of women while still calling for positive change advancing the sex. Actress Rumer Willis got in on the action on her Instagram account.

She posted a topless photo of her nursing her daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. Louetta was born on April 18, 2023. Rumer gave birth at home and even broke her own water. Lou is now 10 months old.

Rumer captioned her photo: “Love of my life…..happy international women’s day.”

Rumer, 35, is the daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. She shares Louetta with partner Derek Richard Thomas.

Louetta’s name came about because of a typo. Rumer and Derek were texting while considering the name Loretta. He left out the r and Louetta became an option. Rumer thought it was meant to be. "I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy," she explained to People.

Even though Derek and Rumer came up with the name early on, this doesn’t mean they didn’t second guess themselves. "What was scary was, I love this name, but oh man, is it going to be her name? Is it the right name? What if she comes out and doesn't look like this?" she remembered. "I fell in love with the name so much, so early on, that I was then worried that it wouldn't work. But then she came out, and I mean, to me, at least right now, I was going to name her Lou, whether she was a boy or a girl."

Thankfully, the name fits her like a glove. Rumer loves being a mom. She finds it especially moving to watch her parents bond with her daughter. "I think inherently, some of the most magical parts of myself are definitely from them," Rumer gushed. "So I feel like that will be passed down to her. I love watching them with her."

Rumer cherished every moment of her first Christmas season with her daughter. “I think I bought little Christmas onesies before she was even born,” she joked. She mused that having a new baby in the house for the holidays was “the best.” No doubt Rumer will continue to soak in every moment of motherhood.
