He Was Unresponsive For Years, Until THIS Miracle Happened At The Nursing Home!

You know when you hear a really great song and it instantly turns your mood around? You start feeling more positive, you smile, you get the sense everything is going to be ok.

It’s no secret that music can heal the soul. We’ve seen it help babies still in the womb, to young children with unimaginable disabilities like this boy, all the way to elderly seniors who needed a reason to smile like this happy group of retirement home residents.

The following video features another beautiful example of exactly how music can transform our lives and heal the soul – and it might be the most amazing yet. This clip is from social worker Dan Cohen’s documentary, Alive Inside, which is a part advocacy, part fundraising tool to bring joy into the life of sick seniors in nursing homes by giving them iPods loaded up with their favorite music from decades past.

Cohen creates personalized playlists for the elderly inmates, including Henry, the star of this clip, who has been bound to a wheelchair, unresponsive and depressed for a very, very long time. When Henry hears music from his past for the first time in years, something incredible takes place.

Henry’s eyes finally sparkle with joy again, as he gently rocks along to the music he loved so much. He even tries to sing along with the iPod! Nursing home workers were absolutely stumped that after just a few minutes of listening, Henry’s life is restored in some ways to the fun-loving man he once was.
