Ike Turner Jr., son of Tina Turner, was arrested on charges of crack possession just days before his mother's death. His arrest was made in Texas, and his bail was set at $70,000. He was also charged with tampering with evidence.
Ike Jr. was pulled over at a traffic light by Alvin, Texas, police at 12:09 a.m. for an equipment violation. Upon an investigation, the officers seized 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and 0.7 grams of methamphetamine.
Officers stated they'd noticed the 64-year-old trying to consume the narcotics in his possession.
"He tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him," Captain Q.T. Arendell said.

The arrest was made on May 6, and Ike Jr. was sentenced to jail just 18 days before his mom died on May 24. Tina was 83 years old at the time she passed in her home in Switzerland.
