Tori Spelling recently shared that she and some of her kids have been battling a sickness as of late. Apparently, they've been in and out of urgent care for months, with one infection after another. Unbeknownst to them at the time, they had a mold infestation growing in their home.
The actress took to Instagram to discuss what was happening. "Let’s talk about MOLD…," she began. "Here we are again at Urgent Care. We’ve all been on this continual spiral of sickness for months. Sick. Get better. To get sick again. Used to think… well that’s what happens when you have young kids in school. They just continually bring sicknesses home. But, when it gets to the point where they are at home sick more than being in school we had to reassess what was going on."
She went on to discuss how, due to having a feeling that something more was going on, she had a mold inspection: "Thx to Sean at Pacific Scope Inspections who came out and discovered extreme mold in our home . The pieces all started to fall into place. Has anyone ever been thru Mold Infections? You just keep getting sick, one infection after another. Respiratory infections. Extreme allergy like symptoms too and like my poor Finn skin rashes as well. As we sit here today in Urgent Care … watching everyone getting swabbed and first up Finn with Strep throat ✅and high fever of 103. We now know that when the house was labeled a health hazard and not live able that wording was FACT. We now GET IT!"

"It’s hard to just uproot a huge family especially in midst of all feeling so sick and in bed," she said. "We are just renters so looks like moving is in our eminent future as well. Grateful we have renters insurance. We’d be lost how to tackle this without."
Apparently, too, her children's schools didn't believe that they were as sick as they claimed to continually be. "Just get them in school right ? Has anyone been thru Mold sickness? The deeper dive I do online sadly I see how common this is #mold #moldinfection."
Fans took to the comments to share their concerns. "My entire functional medicine practice focuses on mold detox. Living in a moldy home transformed my life (and my medical practice). It’s crazy how sick we can get from it," one user said.
"@torispelling VERY common and thank you for bringing light to this public health emergency in our country," another commenter applauded. "Our kids are exposed to mold every day in school buildings – flat roofs and poor ventilation = breading ground for mold. And we wonder why there are so many illnesses and behavior problems in our youth these days. Biotoxin illness is a real thing!!! Two wonderful physicians for mold illness – @dr.jess.md and @drjabanmoore."
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mold is very common in buildings and homes: "If you believe you are ill because of exposure to mold in a building, you should consult your physician to determine the appropriate action to take."
Tori and her kids are now focused on getting better. The actress added that she is now in search of an Airbnb, Vrbo, or hotel to reside in until they can figure out next steps.
