Are you a U.S. citizen? Could you pass the U.S. Citizenship Test?
You may or may not know that in order to apply for citizenship in the United States, immigrants must pass a naturalization exam that covers important topics in U.S. history and government topics. The test, which you can take here, consists of 100 questions, but during an interview process, the person applying is asked 10 random questions from the list and must answer six correct.
Jimmy Kimmel has done a great job trolling Americans with questions about U.S. history, like he did in his "Lie Witness News" segment about Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. As you can see, not everyone in the U.S. is so fluent in American history…and it can be pretty embarrassing!
In the following clip, which we found on Rumble from user MikeOxFloppin, a man goes around asking random people, some who are U.S. citizens and some who are tourists or immigrants, random questions from the test. "Why are there 13 stripes on the American flag?" is a big one, but surprisingly a lot more of the non-citizens knew the correct answer than the born-and-bred Americans.
While you can't expect everyone in the U.S. to know every answer on the test, it's pretty sad that people like this young woman can't even prove their citizenship.
