Every Single Week, Dog Flips Out When His Best Friend — A Pig — Comes Over For Playdate

Here's a clip that's sure to put a smile on your face, especially when you may need it most.

First, meet Carlton the pig. He was originally sold as a "mini" or "micro" pig. However, tiny pigs must be bred to stay so small, which can cause many health issues and shorten the animal's lifespan.

In reality, Carlton grew into a big, full-sized pig. He wasn't the portable, handheld pet his family thought he'd be — so they abandoned him on a farm in Texas.

When Amanda Quick saw Carlton's photo for the first time, she told The Dodo that it was love at first sight. She'd been looking to adopt a pig she could train as a therapy animal and drove an hour to pick him up on the farm that same night.

One day, Amanda brought Carlton to singing practice with her friend, Mary. And Mary has a dog named Colt.

Colt is an 8-year-old rescue dog who was also abandoned by his previous owner. These days, he has arthritic bones — but the second he saw Carlton for the first time, he started acting like a puppy, jumping up and down and yelping in pure delight.

This story first appeared on LittleThings in April 2020.

As you're about to see, Colt and Carlton formed an instant friendship, and now they have weekly playdates.

"Carlton is like a clock," Amanda told Newsflare. "He knows the exact time to go and see Colt and if I'm not ready he'll oink at the door."
