Sam is the best big brother anyone could ask for.
No matter what his little sister is up to, Sam is always standing by her to make sure she's safe. Sam's parents weren't sure this would be the case when they first brought his little sister home, however.
Sam is a Great Dane, a breed of dog that grows to be impossibly large. Male Great Danes can weigh well over 100 pounds and grow up to at least 76 centimeters at the shoulder.
The gentle giant not only welcomed his little sister to the family, she's now his favorite little human!
Sam's parents have documented the sweet relationship between the dog and his baby sister and shared it on their Instagram for the world to see.

This is Sam the Great Dane and his very little sister.
Sam's dad wasn't too sure how the big dog would react to such a little human.
The gentle giant took to his little sister right away.
He became very protective of her and began to follow her around everywhere.
When she goes outside to play, the big dog follows.
Sam's parents began to notice the adorable trend and started snapping photos.
Sam is always extra close to his little sis around mealtime!
We have a feeling there aren't a lot of leftovers in this house.
Sam's little sister even uses him as a pillow when she's sleepy.
Judging by the size of him, she'll be able to get away with doing that for quite a long time.
Sam and his sister have plenty of adventures left ahead of them and we can't wait to see what they'll get up to!
