When human moms go into labor, they are often assisted by caregivers who make childbirth an easier process. They may still be in some pain and discomfort, but these trained professionals know how to put them at ease. And thanks to nurses and doctors, babies are given the proper care from the first second they enter the world.
Animals, on the other hand, don't always have people to assist them through labor. In the wild, mothers must give birth on their own. On farms and in zoos, humans try their best not to intervene until it is absolutely necessary.
Luckily for this mother llama living on the White Post Farm in the U.K., a farmhand was close by, keeping an eye on her baby as she suddenly went into labor.
He notices the baby in an awkward position as her mom tries to push. He realizes that she's stuck and moves to lend a hand.
He's very careful and gentle, but pulls on the baby's neck and front limbs with surprising resolve. Mom lets him assist her, and in no time, the baby is born!
He rubs the newborn to help her breathe and to clean her, so that mom can take over. Both look healthy and relieved!
This is one incredible moment, and thank God this man was there to help this baby be born!
