If you’ve ever been around animals, you probably know that most dogs and cats are attracted to the goodness and light they find in the humans who care for them.
This video posted by Zoo Land on YouTube shares the heartwarming story of an abused and neglected pit bull puppy who reunites with the man who saved him.
According to the Daily Mail, the puppy, who was eventually named Mojo, had such a bad case of mange, a parasitic skin disease caused by microscopic mites, that he was on the “brink of death” prior to Joey Wagner finding him.
Joey, who is the founder of a nonprofit animal rescue foundation in Nova Scotia, immediately took notice of the dire state that little Mojo was in and took him to a veterinary hospital for care.
Under their expert care, Mojo found himself on the road to recovery and was soon up for adoption, with loads of inquiries coming in.
But the veterinary center couldn’t just send him to any home due to the level of care that was required for Mojo’s healing skin condition, as well as the previous neglect he had experienced.

When Joey heard that Mojo needed a special home where he could get lots of care and love, he knew he wanted to step up to the plate.
As soon as Joey walked into the room where little Mojo was having a routine vet exam, it was crystal clear that these two were meant to be family. Mojo appeared to immediately recognize the man who saved him from neglect and erupted in playful behavior.
