We've all been in this bind before, right? Another birthday has snuck up on you, and you have absolutely nothing — no time, no money, and no ideas. You know you need a gift, but the clock is ticking. What do you do?
Time to get creative! And luckily, we here at LittleThings have done the thinking for you.
We've taken it upon ourselves to craft the perfect last-minute, penny-pinching gift. All it requires is some simple craft supplies and a trip to the nearest gas station.
Sure, you could just grab a card and slip in a gift certificate, but that can be a little impersonal.
Instead, scrounge up some cash and a few little supplies to give a gift that will make them smile. They'll appreciate the gesture — and the potential extra bucks! When you buy these gifts, that 20 dollars can suddenly become 20 million dollars!

Step 1: In order to make a cheap — but adorable! — gift, start by looking around your house for what you already have. We dug around our office and found some cute straws, a nice mug, some tissue paper, and an old curly ribbon bow. We're also limiting our budget to just $20.
Step 2: Since we're looking to make this quick and inexpensive, we spent our $20 on lottery tickets. We chose an assortment of prices and sizes.
Step 3: Instead of just handing your friend or family member the lotto tickets, make a nice presentation. Tape them to cute straws, popsicle sticks, or colorful pipe cleaners to make a lottery bouquet.
Step 4: Enlist the help of your favorite furry friend. I've chosen Smokey, LittleThings' CCO, or Chief Cuteness Officer.
Step 5: When taping your lotto tickets, make them varying heights. This will help when you begin to arrange your bouquet. Also take into consideration the size and shape of each ticket.
Step 6: Stuff some tissue paper into the mug or container you've chosen. This will help secure each of the tickets.
Step 7: Begin to tuck your tickets into the container. I stuck mine between the tissue paper and the mug to make sure each ticket stays put.
Step 8: Arrange each ticket by its height and size.
Step 9: Step back to admire your bouquet. If you want to add anything else to your gift, go ahead and tuck it in now.
