A Massachusetts woman has been missing since New Year’s Day, investigators say. Ana Walshe, 39, was last seen at her home in Cohasset and reported missing on January 4, 2023, by her husband. He has been arrested for lying to investigators about his whereabouts on the days after his wife went missing.
Now a new report from the New York Post reveals that Ana Walshe, a mother of three, wrote her husband a romantic but slightly eerie note just hours before she disappeared.
In big red letters, spelled out over a champagne bottle package that lay on the counter in their dining room, she wrote a letter to welcome in the new year with her husband.
The note read, “Wow! 2022 … What a year! And yet, we are still here and together! Let’s make 2023 the best one yet! We are the authors of our lives … courage, love, perseverance, compassion, and joy. Love, Ana.”
According to investigators, the couple had a party to celebrate the new year. A family friend who was in attendance, Gem Mutlu, said there was nothing weird going on at the gathering.
“We hugged and celebrated and we toasted, just what you do over New Year’s,” he told WBZ-TV.
At the event, Mutlu added, “There was a lot of looking forward to the New Year. There was no indication of anything other than celebrating the New Year, problems on hold.”
