A Baby Elk Almost Got Left Behind By His Herd, But The Ending Made My Day. Amazing Video!

Every spring in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, thousands of elk migrate from their winter homes in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho to higher elevation ranges closer to the core of the wonderous Yellowstone National Park. In this incredible video, migrating elk were crossing a road in Bozeman, Montana, but while most of them made it over the wire fence with ease, a few struggled and one youngster ended up getting stuck behind.

Once a car slowed down and startled the young buck, it appears that he mustered up the confidence to give the jump one more try. Success! The smallest elk in the bunch made it over the fence. When I saw the elk running like the wind, I felt so awful he had been left behind, until the end of the video – at around 2:58 – when you can see that the rest of the herd waited patiently for their young friend.

No elk left behind! I love this motto. If this video warmed your heart, please SHARE it with someone else today to remind them that this is what friendship looks like.
