A lot of children who are adopted may imagine who their birth parents were and what it would be like to finally meet them.
In this video shared by the Tamron Hall show, Kathy Gillcrist tells the unbelievable story of how doing DNA testing in her adult years led her to learn that her biological father was actually on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for murder.
Kathy notes that even though she grew up in a very loving adoptive family, she always felt like she was made a little bit differently than them. She describes her adoptive family as quiet and modest New Englanders, while she always felt like she was going to be the “next Shirley Temple.”
When she did the DNA testing as an adult through a genealogy website, she was connected with a distant cousin who was able to uncover that Kathy’s father is accused killer William Bradford Bishop Jr., who had been on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for decades.
According to NBC 4 Washington, William Bradford Bishop Jr. is accused of the brutal murders of his wife, his mother, and their three boys in 1976, and he has been in hiding ever since.
When Kathy saw her biological father’s wanted poster, she immediately saw herself, as their faces look very similar. It was eerie.
In the video clip, when Tamron asks Kathy where she thinks her biological father went, as he has been missing for over 45 years, Kathy seems to think, after gathering information from various family members and doing her own research over the years, that he likely escaped the country and is living in Europe somewhere.
