Bride Posts Wedding Pics To Instagram And A Woman Asks If She Can Borrow Her Wedding Dress

A wedding dress is an important memory — when you first put it on in the store, when you say “yes” to wearing that specific dress on your big day, when you put it on right before you walk down the aisle to your future spouse, and when you wear it all evening dancing the night away with all your friends and family.

Even though you wear your dress once and then put it away until you want to see if it still fits some years down the road, you keep it safe because you don’t want anything happening to it. This bride, though, had a different idea for her dress.

Inside Edition posted a story about Emily Heath, a woman who lent her wedding dress to a stranger on the other side of the world. Emily said, “This dress is beautiful, it was so special to me, and it’s just been sitting in a closet for three years. Why not? It has another opportunity to get worn, why not give it the chance?”

Inside Edition compared this story to the iconic book Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I find that an amazing concept. How wonderful would it be to continuously share a wedding dress and see it be worn multiple times on such happy days!

Emily wore her Rue de Seine designer dress back in 2019 and shared her wedding day pictures on Instagram. One day Emily got a message from Simone Crouch from South Africa, who asked, “Are you at all selling your wedding dress? I am so in love with the Avril from Rue de Seine!”

Simone came across the dress on Pinterest and immediately fell in love with it. She, unfortunately, found out that the dress was not available to buy on her continent. That’s when she started her search to see if anyone was selling their previously worn dress.

To her surprise, Emily agreed to let Simone borrow her $5,000 dress! Getting the dress to Simone was a challenge in itself! Emily shipped it to Simone’s mom in the UK for $120, then a family friend traveled with it in her carry-on luggage to Johannesburg, South Africa. To Simone’s surprise, the dress fit perfectly.
